The Eternal Prize

Posted by on November 6, 2012

As I write this, we are in the thick of an electoral race where there will be elated winners and deflated losers. Through it all, we’ve seen all the good and bad of human nature when people strive for power. No matter who is declared the winner at the end of all this, as believers in Jesus Christ we know that there is prize far greater than any election victory can bring: It is the the eternal prize – salvation from our sin through Jesus Christ!

This is the message so much of the world longs to hear, yet so few have made it their life-mission to bring this good news to the unreached. Over and over again, God has confirmed His call on our lives to take the Gospel to the people of Africa. Our response is summed up perfectly in Romans 15:20, β€œIt has always been my ambition to preach the gospel where Christ was not known…”

Right now, we’re preparing to head back overseas in January 2013. That’s not too far away. In the last few months, we’ve been all around the United States (and on the radio!), sharing the vision and recruiting ministry partners who will stand with us in bring the gospel to the unreached of Africa. But the work of raising up partners is not finished. We still need men and women who will make a decision to stand with us to reach the unreached of Africa.

We are looking for people who can partner through giving. It is through partners like you that we are able to bring the good news of Jesus Christ to Africa. Currently, we are at about 60% of our total out-going funds target. We are at roughly 95% of our monthly-support target. We need to be at 100% of both targets by the end of November if we are to leave in January! You can help with one or both of these things!

Fulani men listen to the Gospel in their own language!

We also need prayer partners who can bring the issues of the ministry before the throne of God in a regular and systematic way. Central Africa is a spiritually dark place and the light of the Jesus Christ will not advance without the people of God interceding for that place. Can you commit to pray for us and for the ministry in Africa? Will you commit to pray for us for the next 4 weeks that God would provide for us, that He would move the hearts of men and women to support the ministry?

"The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few..." Pray for more workers!

We need your prayers and we need your partnership!

Let us know how you can help!
