Merry Christmas!

It’s been a while since we last checked in and we wanted to update you on what’s been happening in our lives.

Eric has been going to Phoenix Seminary to get his Master’s of Divinity degree (MDiv) so that he can teach and train pastors in Africa.  After being in Phoenix for 2+ years, we’re starting to see light at the end of the tunnel.  Eric should be finished with his MDiv degree this coming May, but an opportunity opened up for him to start on a Theological Master’s degree (ThM). The ThM is an advanced research degree and is the lowest qualification needed in order to teach at an accredited theological school. He has been working concurrently towards both the MDiv and the ThM degrees this past semester. (Needless to say, it has been a lot!)  God willing, Eric will finish with the MDiv in May 2019 and the ThM in May 2020.

During this past year, Eric was able to put some of his talents and gifts to work.  In August, he had a preaching opportunity at the church we are attending. He shared about our work in Africa and how God sends all of us as gospel ambassadors. (You can listen to the sermon here.)  Over the past year, Eric also had the opportunity to work as the ministry assistant to one of his professors.  In doing so, Eric earned a shout out in one of Dr Wayne Grudem’s new Christian Ethics book.  (You can see his name in print if you go to the preview on Amazon and look on page 29 of the preface.)

Julianne has been keeping busy managing the children, but she also has thrown herself into teaching a women’s Bible study at church.  It has been really life-giving for Juli to be able to help other women know and study the Bible—and especially to see others grow in their relationship with the Lord.  Juli has been a blessing to so many others, but the women at the Bible study have also been a blessing to Julianne.

The kids are growing bigger and bigger every day.  Baby Isaiah is already 8 months old! His sisters love to entertain him and make him laugh!

We appreciate your prayers and support over the past year. God has been so good to us and every day He shows himself faithful!  We are really looking forward to what God has in store for 2019.  Please keep praying for us.  Eric will continue to work hard at his studies and get equipped for more ministry on the field.  Julianne will continue to look for ways to be a blessing with our church family in Phoenix.

If you want to make any sort of year end contribution to Africa Inland Mission, for our ministry or for other ministries that they have, you may do so online here.

Finally, we want to say thank you for standing with us! Thank you for your prayers! And thank you for your encouragement! Truly, we are not in this alone and God is using all of us to advance His kingdom!
